Yes, I think Tumblr might become my political venting ground. Sorry to those not into that kind of thing. Usually I keep my online output more or less apolitical, but sometimes you just have to scream into a room, even if its empty. Plus I’ve been wanting to find some way to differentiate all of these social media platforms for me, so they’re not all redundantly echoing each others’ posts. So if you want to un-follow, I completely understand.

If you prefer the apolitical me, almost all of my other online activity has that. So for the mostly non-political version of me, read CoreyBlake.com, friend me on Facebook, and/or follow me on Twitter. For comic book and graphic novel stuff, check out The Comics Observer, which is also on Facebook and Twitter.

This isn’t usually my genre of music but the vocals are ridiculously amazing (that final scream at the end gets me every time!) and the bass playing is crazy.

Yes, it’s got a provocative and aggressive title and chorus. Hello, it’s metal!

I wanted to post the lyrics because there is some craziness going on about how the song must be an actual call for murder. This quickly disproves that. The song is in fact a critique on the manipulation of the masses by media programs like Rush’s radio show. It’s a musical expression of anger and frustration, not their secret battle plans set to music.

From the outrage coming from Rush’s fans who only see the song title, I can’t help but wonder where they were when Ted Nugent stood on stage holding machine guns and yelling how Obama and Hillary should suck on his guns.

(I don’t usually like to get political on the interwebs, so that’s why I’m giving this bit to my too-neglected Tumblr. Hopefully it will make the rounds on Tumblr for those that support musical expression.)

So about 50 people are hitting my website in search of Ralph Wiggum’s “I Choo-Choo-Choose You” Valentine’s Day card, which I posted on my website along with other Valentine’s Day-themed comics stuff last year. Sadly it seems to be the only image that is no longer up on the page, for no reason I can discern.

Sorry Internet! I guess you’ll have to go out and buy a real Valentine’s Day card.

Yay, Tumblr is back (for me)!

For weeks now I haven’t been able to log in to Tumblr. I kept getting an error message in my browsers that a redirect was being attempted that couldn’t finish or some oddity. I also couldn’t log in through my iPhone app, but my iPhone is a 3G and I wasn’t sure if it was just taking forever and I simply gave up.

A very hectic December left me with no time to figure it out, aside from a half-hearted attempt here and there to Google for an answer, or ask people on Facebook and Twitter. I didn’t really find anything that felt worth trying.

I finally broke down last night and emailed Tumblr. I guessed at their support email address since I couldn’t go to their website at all. Being a long holiday weekend in the US, I wasn’t really expecting a response until Tuesday, but their support got back to me today apologizing for the problem and saying that it’s fixed. Don’t know what happened but very impressed with their speed and friendliness about the whole thing!

Thank you, Tumblr!
